Fujimi 46089 1/350 IJN Kagero-Class Destroyer Yukikaze (w/Crew, PE) [350NX-3 EX-2]
The destroyer Yukikaze was the eighth of the 19 Kagero-class ships, and was completed at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal in January 1940, the year before the war began.
The Kagero-class was a class of ships that brought together the construction know-how that had evolved from the Toku-class and Shiratsuyu-class, and was a fleet-type destroyer with a displacement of 2,000 tons, three 12.7 cm twin guns, two 61 cm quadruple torpedo tubes, and a 52,000 horsepower engine that could achieve a speed of 35 knots.
Yukikaze is known as a lucky ship in the Japanese Navy, as she participated in major naval battles during the Pacific War and continued to serve until the end of the war without being lost in battle.
No painting required: Each part is colored with the molded color (except for crew members/metal parts), and some parts are colored with stickers. No gluing required: The parts are designed to fit together, making it easy to assemble.
The product can reproduce the final appearance at the time of Operation Ten-Ichi-Go (Okinawa Special Attack Operation) in April 1945.
Etching parts are included, allowing you to reproduce even the smallest details that are difficult to reproduce with injection parts.
The display base comes with parts that are different from the regular version with a wooden deck/strip processing pattern.
It can be created with the modeling expression unique to the large scale of 1/350.
The hull and bottom of the ship are divided into parts at the waterline. Both full hull type and offshore type can be reproduced.
The parts are divided and colored to match the main color tone.
The gray is a gray that imitates the Kure Naval Arsenal color, and is composed of a total of 6 part colors, including linoleum color and ship bottom color.
The hull is divided into left and right parts. It is designed to fit together by pressing in the boss.
The parts that cannot be reproduced in 1/700 scale, including the clamps for the external electrical wiring, the thickness of the steel plates, the portholes and eaves, are reproduced.
The bottom of the ship is molded as a single piece. The thickness and overlap of the steel plates are reproduced , giving the surface a sense of precision.
The water supply and drainage ports at the bottom, the listening device, and the rivets on the keel are reproduced with delicate carvings.
The main guns are made of a slide mold, giving them a one-piece structure with molding around the entire circumference of the turret.
The barrels can be elevated and lowered one by one even after assembly, and the slide mold gives the muzzle an open shape.
The bottom surface, which cannot be seen after assembly, is also reproduced with great attention to detail, such as the shape of the reinforcing beams.
The 61 cm quadruple torpedo tubes, a characteristic of the Kagero class, are precisely reproduced with three parts: the cover, the torpedo tube, and the torpedo.
After assembly, they can be aimed left and right and rotated.
The bridge base is a one-piece molded part, with the side walls shaped and engraved using a slide mold.
The Type 94 compass on top of the bridge can be rotated even after assembly, allowing it to be aligned with the main guns.
Clear molded parts are used for the bridge windows.
The mast is a two-piece structure with a front leg and two rear legs, and the lookout tower and No. 22 radar are also precisely reproduced.
The chimney is a left-right glued-together type, and the funnel cap is a mesh-like open-ended part, resulting in a realistic shape.
The funnel cap and the top of the chimney are painted black and are reproduced in advance by coloring the parts.
The steam exhaust pipe and cooking chimney are separate parts from the engine chimney, creating a three-dimensional shape.
The linoleum parts of the front and rear upper decks are made of brown molded colored parts.
The linoleum retainer is expressed with delicate carvings.
The steel deck in the center of the upper deck has a non-slip (strip) pattern reproduced with detailed convex engraving.
The rear torpedo loading device and the base of the searchlight tower are integrated parts using a slide mold, and both the sides and top are engraved.
Special parts are available for the removal of the No. 2 main gun/additional machine gun mount, which is a characteristic feature of the final version.
Special parts are available for the stern in the final version, equipped with a depth charge drop rail.
Pre-cut stickers are included to represent the coloring of the battleship flag and the inner surface of the cutter.
Two etching parts are included, including parts to be added such as handrails and parts to replace the injection parts.
The Type 93 61 cm oxygen torpedo, 12.7 cm gun barrel, and depth charges are available as metal parts.
Two types of parts are included on one runner each, with 70 crew members mainly in a standing position and 71 crew members mainly in a working or shooting position.
The crew parts are molded in white to take into consideration the color development when painted. The molded parts come in seven colors: Kure Naval Arsenal color, ship bottom color, linoleum color, black, transparent color, gold, and white.
[Included Contents] 34 runners , 3 assembly instructions , 2 etching parts , 26 metal parts , 1 paper sticker.
Please note that due to monitor and image resolution issues, the color of the actual product may look different.
